Barn Conversion near La Rochelle, France
Private clients bought two derelict ancient stone barns as a renovation project for themselves and asked Ralph Guilor Architects to prepare designs for the conversion works which could then be used to brief the French local architect who would oversee the building works
Situated in the Poitou Charente area of France, it has now been very recently renovated by local craftsmen to provide a semi open plan living area with an informal seating area, dining facilities for up to 12 people. The salon is full height and overlooked by the mezzanine snug area. A wood burning stove forms a central feature.
The two barns form an informal attractive courtyard and part of the development included the construction af a swimming pool and tennis court.
