The Broad Walk, Cheltenham – a luxury award winning development of 44 new build flats.
Originally the site of the stable block buildings serving the Queens Hotel, one of the Regency spa buildings of Cheltenham, this site was acquired by developer clients for whom Ralph Guilor Architects acquired planning permission to erect 44 new flats with underground parking.
Located within the heart of the local central conservation area and surrounded by listed buildings of national architectural importance, this development was designed to replicate in every detail a Regency terrace and to reinstate the original “walk”, known originally as “The Broad walk”, from the Queens Hotel Building to the pavilion building (now demolished) at the corner of the Regency square.
Great care was taken to create contemporary accommodation behind correctly proportioned and detailed traditional elevations to create a street scene which completed this Regency Square in the heart of Cheltenham’s central conservation Area.
